What Students and Learning Coaches Need to Know for the 2026-2027 School Year at INDLS

Stories & Spotlights
INDLS expectations

As we prepare for the 2026-2027, Indiana Digital Learning School continues to be committed to helping learning coaches and students achieve academic success. Here are some important details as it relates to our policies on attendance, testing, and more.

Learning Coach Expectations

Learning coaches are essential in providing motivation and guidance for their students. LCs are responsible for making sure their students are attending our live classes and staying on top of their assignments. Additionally, learning coaches are tasked with reporting the attendance of their students on a daily basis.

Maintaining consistent communication with teachers and staff is crucial in ensuring that their students are on the right track. Our dedicated team is available during Office Hours, as well as through help labs and direct contact information.

Student Expectations

Whilst online coursework offers flexibility, there is an expectation that students are actively participating in their courses. It is required that INDLS students log in to engage with their classes on a daily basis.

The amount of time estimated for students to participate with their courses is based on grade levels:

  • K-2nd grade:  students will spend approximately 5.5 hours per day (28 hours per week)
  • 3rd-5th grade:  students will spend approximately 5.5 hours per day (28 hours per week)
  • 6th-8th grade: students will spend approximately 5.5 hours per day (28 hours per week)
  • 9th-12th grade: students will spend approximately 6-7 hours per day (30-35 hours per week)

It is mandatory that students attend their scheduled Class Connect sessions with their teachers. And, during state testing periods, it is required that students participate in-person for their exams.
